Family Pics

We had family pics made this week. It is strange to think that our family pics from here on out will include another precious baby boy. I am excited to see our family grow! In the meantime, my belly just keeps growing!!

David felt Baby Daniel move for the 1st time tonight. So far, David has had no interest in touching my belly long enough to feel Baby Daniel move. Daniel was a VERY busy boy tonight when I was reading David stories, so I told David to put his hand on my belly. I wish I could have captured his face when he felt Baby Daniel moving. It will forever be etched in my heart though...it was truly priceless. His little eyes lit up and his smile was from one side of his face to the other. He ADORED the little "high fives" Baby Daniel was giving him and was so sad when he stopped moving. He then gave Baby Daniel a kiss goodnight. Melted my heart completely. I know it is hard for him to understand what is truly going on, but I also know that he fell in love with his brother tonight. And I can't wait to witness him do it again and again in the future! It made this pregnant momma cry! :)

And something cool from the week....I overheard David counting his library books out loud the other day...and it was in SPANISH!!! My jaw dropped. Thank you Dora the Explorer! :)

Potty Trained!!

Our little boy is officially potty trained!! He has done great with it and we have been on 2 ice cream dates as rewards. Of course, food speaks to this boy, so an ice cream date is the ultimate reward for him! :) We were even in TN for a week, and he did great! We are just so proud of him and also excited that we will only have 1 in diapers at a time! David loves the fact that he is now a big boy and while he will always be my baby, I am seeing everyday what a BIG boy he is becoming. It is sometimes bittersweet!

We are doing well. Just busy with early "Spring Cleaning." Nesting will do that to you! :) I am now 25 weeks along and Baby K2 is growing quickly! By the way, this one is going to be named Daniel. David already loves to talk about Baby Daniel and he has lots of plans for him! The most important one to David is that Baby Daniel will sleep with him! Mr. David loves a snuggle buddy, hopefully Daniel will like to snuggle. We are beginning to imagine what life will be like with Baby Daniel and I know our family dynamics are about to change. We are excited about that change though! My pregnancy has been a smooth ride so far and we are thrilled that my dr's in Raleigh are confident in keeping me here, instead of sending me to the high risk group at Duke again. Praise the Lord! He has placed some wonderful, intelligent Doctor's in my path this pregnancy and we are so thankful! (In case you don't know what I am talking about, I have a rare platelet disorder that has some dr's stumped!)

Matt and I are both learning to rely more on God in 2008. As most of you know, I am a planner by nature and I love being in charge of details. God is making me humbly learn that HE IS IN CONTROL. I am truly living One Day at a Time right now and slowly turning over the details to God. He must be thrilled...it has only taken me 26 years to start learning HOW to do this! I have my days where I feel like I am starting at square one though! Thankfully, he is a patient and graceful God.

We're Having...

ANOTHER PRECIOUS BOY!!! We were going to let Baby K2 be a surprise at delivery, but HE had other plans at our ultrasound. He kept making it obvious to us and we are very excited! My house is full of blue and I just love it. Baby K2 looks very healthy and is a very squirmy little man. David says he already likes matchbox cars because Baby K2 can kick it around on my belly! LOL!

We didn't get many good ultrasound pics because he was much too squirmy (and kept showing us his parts), but we fell in love with him just the same. God is so good and we are looking forward to meeting our new little fella.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I will try to post pics of David's Christmas soon!

Ho Ho Ho!

Our little Santa lights up our lives..he is a true delight!

We pray this Holiday season finds our friends and family healthy and happy. It is hard to believe 2007 is almost over...it has been a wonderful year. David has just grown leaps and bounds and makes our everyday a delight. We are truly blessed to have him in our lives and we are looking forward to our new addition as well. Reflecting back on this last year makes me realize how truly blessed we are. God provides in so many ways. My dream (even as a child) was to be a stay at home mom. I am truly thankful for each and everyday that I am able to be home to watch my child grow and learn. I love being his "teacher" and I love experiencing all the new things with him. While we may not be rich in wordly eyes, we are rich in God's blessings. God has provided time and time again and we are so thankful for his intervention because if not for him, we would be so lost. Matt continues to enjoy his job as a police officer, which has surprised even him. It's amazing what God's will is compared to ours, uh?

We look ahead to 2008 with great anticipation. God has changes in store for our family! We are already preparing ourselves for the addition of Baby K2 in May. We look forward to meeting this precious one and sharing Baby K2 with all of you. We don't know what else God has in store for us, but we are praying we follow his will regardless. Sometimes our hearts desires consume us, but we want 2008 to be a year where God's desires consume us.

We pray we all can remember just why we are celebrating this season. God sending Jesus to earth is by far the greatest gift of all. It is such a joy to teach David about Baby Jesus this year, but I pray we don't forget to share him with others as well.

Merry Christmas to each of you. We love you, pray for you, and are so thankful for you.

Change

Fall is upon us and we are once again reminded that change is good and can be a beautiful thing. When the leaves begin changing, I am reminded that my heart can and NEEDS to change too. It can turn softer and more compassionate towards those hurting and in need. It can overflow with love and thanksgiving for my many blessings and my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I pray daily that I am open to the changes God has in store for me and our family.

Speaking of change...We take a yearly pic with Mr. David in our backyard in the fall. Boy has he changed since 2005!

Sweeeeet

David was such a cute turtle for Halloween. He was "Squirt" from Finding Nemo. Halloween Night was the 1st time he would put the costume on, so I didn't even know if it would fit. But, after I explained to him the process of trick or treating...he was all about it and was ready to go around 4:30pm!! LOL! We went to a few houses in the neighborhood (15 to be exact) and David kept saying, "Just 2 more houses, okay Mommy." He was "TOTALLY" cute!!
